Reading List: Six weeks untill EYE@Hannover

Registration is still open for the European Young Engineers conference in Hannover. There are just six weeks until the conference, make sure you register now to secure your place.

With the conference taking place in Germany, take up the opportunity to learn or refresh yourself with some German phrases using Duolingo.

What have the Germans done for us? Some of the engineering feats they have made might surprise you, such as this list of Ten Inventions you Didn’t Know Came from Germany.

On 11th March 2011, the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant disaster devastated a whole area of Japan. The response of different countries to this disaster varied significantly. Five years later, Germany has shut down all its nuclear reactors, while the UK is now pushing for small scale nuclear reactors. What do you think?

On a lighter note… do you ever feel frustrated in meetings? Two years ago this video ‘The Expert’ was released, featuring a long engineer who must deal with idiotic questions from colleges. But did you ever figure out how to solve the problem…

If you need to know more before registering for the conference, please post on the EYE-UK Facebook page, where you can also arrange transport arrangements with other UK delegates
